Tulsi marriage has special significance in Hinduism. It is also known as Devshayani Ekadashi and Hari Prabodhini Ekadashi. According to the Panchang, Tulsi Vivah is organized on the Dwadashi date of Shukla Paksha of Kartik month. This year Tulsi Vivah is on 5th November 2022. According to religious belief, on this day Lord Vishnu wakes up from his yoga nidra after 4 months. According to the story mentioned in the Puranas, Lord Shaligram was married to Mata Tulsi on this day. Shaligram is considered a form of Vishnu. Devshayani Ekadashi is considered to be the best among all Ekadashi dates according to the scriptures. It is said that by taking some special measures on this day, one gets freedom from Chandra Dosha.

Importance of tulsi marriage

After Tulsi marriage all auspicious work starts. It is said that worshiping Lord Vishnu and Mata Tulsi on this day brings happiness and prosperity. Vaikunth Lok is attained by enjoying all the pleasures of the world. Lord Shaligram is a form of Vishnu and Mata Tulsi is considered as the form of Goddess of wealth i.e. Lakshmi. This fast is also considered special for getting children. For this, one should wake up early in the morning and take bath and chant the Sahasranama mantra 108 times. In the evening, prepare Mata Tulsi as a bride and worship her duly.
